Drones: PushButton Death, Robotic Warfare, Armchair Generals And Morality.

It seems that many people (especially those heavily engaged in politicking, propaganda, and discussing fine wines and exotic desserts, while accumulating parking tickets and flipping their hosting country the finger...each thanking his or her gods, goddesses, dead relatives, karma or fate that he or she doesn't have to go back and endure the poverty and dangers of his or her home country) are upset at the "immorality" of drones as weapons and drone strikes as a "legitimate (?)" tactic of war. I think any drones (with the exception of those in beehives or at desks in corporate America) are immoral. But then, I object to war as being immoral, in general. But wait! There's More!

The cold fact is that my morality and system of beliefs is not necessarily shared by those who would wage war upon me and my loved ones. That is a disquieting reality, but one that I must live with. And it is my oath and obligation to protect those whom I love as well as myself. This is very difficult in a world where pre-emptive strikes and defensive maneuvers may be the only way I can keep myself and those whom I love from being harmed.
