CrowdFunding is a social and psychological phenomenon that is merely enhanced by the use of Internet communications and social media broadcasting and sharing tools. The basic rules of Fundraising still apply. If you understand and follow these basic rules, your crowdfunding campaign will be a tremendous success -- if you do not follow these rules, your campaign will likely be a waste of everyone's time.
The rules are simple, and must be diligently adhered to -- and the rules are focused on persuasive and persistent marketing much more than they are based on having a great Mission Statement or a memorable catchphrase. Having a well-reasoned and expressed mission gives your effort substance and direction; having wonderful, valuable incentives and rewards for your contributors gives them an enhanced reason to participate --- but persuasive, persistent daily marketing efforts will compensate greatly for even a "so - so" Mission Statement. It's not rocket science (nor is it "rocket surgery" which former U.S. President George W. Bush was reputed to have said. It's simple, but every step must be dutifully done.
