With Kickstarter's amazing success at bringing CrowdFunding into the capital markets mainstream via Main Street, its massive and diverse projects, its virtually limitless number of project sponsors (lining up at the doors to cyberspace), large sums of capital raised and innumerable contributors, it had to happen. Kickstarter's high profile and financial success have made it a target for lawsuits galore from disgruntled contributors who never received refunds of their money from failed or abandoned projects, despite the fact that the crowdfunding platform is not (read its Terms Of Service - or, for that matter, read virtually any crowdfunding portal's Terms Of Service) liable as a fiduciary for any return of project funds under any circumstances.
