This blog is about things which I (
author Douglas E. Castle) believe will be of interest to either all of you [the general audience] or the specific, technically-oriented "vertical audience" (it's just a marketing term - please free to sit down at any time that you'd like), who are eager to hear about news, commentary, trends, breakthroughs, projections, factoids and other fascinating information regarding their respective fields.
I'll post both types of information in this forum because I feel that:
1) Generally important information to
the greatest audience or demographic should be shared, whether it is news, or specifications about new products or services (especially
freebies, which no one can truly resist - not even scions of great, wealthy industrialist or robber baron families who were brought up to dress impeccably and speak in either a "
Connecticut Lockjaw"
Thurston Howell III affectation, or those
Mayflower descendants who pour beverages from crystal decanters...) because it gives us all a great grasp on what's going on -- things which we all should know; and,
2) Specific industry information which many of us don't ordinarily seek out or access (it's "irrelevant") may spark your interest in a totally new and exciting direction. If this happens -- and it does more than you would think -- it enriches your life, your thinking and even your career. Irrelevancy has been one of my greatest means of true discovery of fascinating new areas of interest.
Henceforth [snobby word, eh?] I'll be posting more article links to this site, as well as whole
weekly newspapers or curated collections of articles to this site covering interesting news items gathered from all media to provide every reader with a broader, better view than just my own. While my original articles will continue to be posted, these weekly reviews will lend some needed external perspective to the things that I'm speaking about, and will cover areas where I haven't focused my own attention as an
author and an executive.
